The Band & Orchestra Boosters serve to encourage the development of band and orchestra members by supporting the educational goals, events, and activities of the instrumental music department. The Boosters coordinate and oversee fundraising, assist in the presentation of performances, and promote band and orchestra activities in the community. The Boosters also provide scholarships for music study and performance travel, and fund visiting clinicians and guest conductors. All parents of band and orchestra members are invited and encouraged to participate; meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 pm in the band & orchestra room at South. Mission Statement The mission of the Grosse Pointe South Band & Orchestra Boosters, a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, is to encourage and foster the development of members of the Band & Orchestra program in their pursuit of musical excellence. The Boosters promote and support the educational and artistic value of participation in the Bands & Orchestras by students, parents, faculty, and the community. The Boosters engage in a variety of fundraising activities in order to provide student scholarships, professional music clinicians, and to defray costs associated with festivals and performances.
